The Supercell launched the latest update in Clash of Clans on April 17th, 2024. The Temperamental Tentacles Update brought several new exciting features to the gameplay.

Temperamental Tentacles - Full Patch Notes

As the new version of Clash of Clans unlocks a new pet “Angry Jelly”, the update is named as the nature of this brand-new pet.

Get ready for the twist! For the first time in the history of Clash of Clans, the pet will take the lead. This pet will not follow the heroes but the attached hero will follow it.

New Pet - Angry Jelly

The Angry Jelly is available at Townhall 16 when the pet house is upgraded to level 10. It is a flying pink-colored pet that looks just like a jellyfish but angry. As its name denotes the Anger, its eyes show its losing temper.

Its ability includes:

Its brainwashing ability enforces the paired hero to target the defenses.
While being attached to a hero it cannot be damaged.
It has long-range attacking ability.
Angry Jelly will become a normal troop when its ability duration ends.
It will be damageable after ending its “brainwash” ability.

Townhall 16 with Pet House level 10 is required for Angry Jelly (level 1 to level 10).

New & Upgraded Levels

Level Upgrades for Buildings

This update brings the new levels of Clan Castle, Builder’s Hut, and Pet House at Townhall 16.

Level Upgrades for Siege Machines

This update brings a new level of the Flame Flinger at Townhall 16.

Level Upgrades for Defenses

This update brings the new levels of Eagle Artillery and Monolith at Townhall 16.

Level Upgrades for Troops

This update brings a new level of Yeti, Ice Golem, and Electro Titan at Townhall 16.

Upgrading Walls

This update brings an opportunity to upgrade all the walls to level 17 at town hall 16 (a total of 325 walls). Before this update, a player could upgrade 250 walls to level 17.

Streak Event

Hey Chief! The streak event is here starting from the 18th of April and will last till the end of April. This is available for the players from the Townhall 8 to the higher levels. A player has to complete the daily tasks to gain rewards and bonuses.

During this streak event, you have to complete the given challenges daily and collect rewards such as hero skin, gems, potions, wall rings, training boosts, and many more.
If you fail to complete the challenges in a given time, you are going to lose the streak and won’t be able to continue.
You need not to worry about your lost streak, you can utilize gems to carry out or reset your streak.
You can complete challenges regardless of time to haste your streaks by spending gems.

Clan Chat Tagging!

Players can tag each other in the clan chat. You can tag your clan leader, a specific member, or the clan as a whole after this update.

@clan can be used to tag everyone in your clan.
@leader can be used to tag your clan leader & co-leaders.
@player-name can be used to tag a specific player within your clan.

Disable Notifications

Whenever someone tags you or your clan you get a notification. If you don’t want to get notified each time you can disable these notifications. By default, this setting is enabled.

More Settings.
Notification settings.
Disable the Clan Chat Tagging.

As a player can be a member of multiple Clans using different accounts within Clash of Clans, this notification setting is not for all those accounts. A player has to disable this setting for each account separately.

Clan Castle Donations

After this update, the upgraded level of the clan castle allows a player to donate or ask for a donation of two siege machines which was not possible at its previous levels.

Two different or similar siege machines can be donated or reinforced after this update.
When a player requests to reinforce two siege machines, either a single clan mate or two different clan members can donate those two siege machines (same/different).
This donation depends on the Clan Perks.
These reinforced siege machines can be picked for the battle.
You can donate upto 50 troops.

Clan Games

Before this update, the selection for challenge tasks was randomized but now this selection is changed by the Clash of Clans.

More home village tasks will be available in the daily challenge selection board.
The builder hall challenges will appear less in number in the clan game tasks.

Defensive Layout for Builder Base!

Defensive layouts are now available for the builder hall after the latest update in April 2024. Before this update defensive layouts were available only at clan capital.

All the buildings and traps must be placed at the defensive layouts that your active layout has placed.
Having a separate defensive layout allows you to decorate your active layout. You can use it instantly without waiting for 24 hours.
This defensive layout can be blocked for others to copy but they can visit the layout.
The defensive layout will be unselected while editing directly or saving without completing all the placements.
It will also be unselected when you place a building that is not placed in your active layout.
When you purchase a new building or trap from the game shop defensive layout will unselect.
When new obstacles appear in your active layout, the defensive layout will become disabled. It will be temporary and you can enable it again by removing these obstacles.

Quality of Life Improvements

This update also brings some QoL changes.

Equipment resources (Starry Ore, Glowy Ore, Shiny Ore) will also be available as rewards for Star Bonus.
From now, the grand warden will not follow the headhunter troop so she will not be able to take more advantage of his magical powers in her back and will target enemy’s heroes alone.
Barbarian Puppet (barbarian king equipment) will show some additional stats now.
- Rage duration in seconds.
- Rage damage increase by %.
After this update, an additional progress bar will appear in the laboratory for the Goblin Researcher. This progress bar will be available during the “Work for Hire” event.

Clan Perks

Clash of Clans allows each clan member to donate more troops, spells, and siege machines.

Bug Fixes

We have fixed a bug that caused multiple obstacles that mostly appear but reward a short amount of gems.
Before this update, when a player aimed to target air troops or any ground unit, the fireball was able to damage that specific target. But this update allows a fireball to destroy both of the targets whether we set it for air or ground.
A bug that was causing a visual disturbance when someone cast the overgrowth and invisibility spells in the meantime is fixed in this update.
When a freeze spell or invisibility spell was cast, the traps in their range remained invisible. This error is also debugged with the update.
The hero “Grand Warden” in his flying mode wasn’t properly visible due to its health bar but this update has made it a bit higher for the air mode.
The Grand Warden will no longer be able to jump the walls.
Address the issue of the villager’s shadow that kept appearing on the top of the buildings.
Fix the issue of activation of the Haste Vial ability that made the royal champion’s attacks less powerful.
Sort out the problem of the building base which does not match its scenery in the builder base due to canceling the editing of the layout.

Clan Capital

As the April 2024 update brought many enhancements to the home village, it also has something new for clan capital.
The loot limit per attack has been increased from 5333 to 6100 in capital trophy calculation.Scaling the defensive bonus settled on the remaining hitpoints for deployed troops.

Clan Wars Changes

Temperamental Tentacles update has also launched some improvements in the clan wars.

After this update, the clan members who have almost maxed town hall 16 will get 6 starry ore instead of 5.
Rewards gained by a tie with the destruction from 50% to 57% and by losing the war with 43% to 50% damage, will affect both ore and resources.
Before this update, players could start the clan wars with different sizes from 5 vs 5 to 50 vs 50 except 35 vs 35 and 45 vs 45. But this update has enabled both of these sizes to start the war.
Townhall levels were considered in regular matchmaking attacks but now heroes’ equipments will also be noticed for this purpose.
A noticeable enhancement is that when selecting your war roster, a leader can see when players were online last time. It helps the clan leader to keep an eye on clan members.

Clan War Signup Changes

Now, in the clan war, clan leaders and co-leaders can post a war sign-up in clan chat. This option can be seen in the war map on the clan screen.
At the same time, only one sign-up can be available in the chat.
This Sign-up option in the chat is only for regular clan wars. It is not available for the clan war league or friendly wars.
Every clan member gets a chance to choose whether they want to participate in the next war or not.
Until the next war starts, the sign-ups will remain pinned and unable to be removed from the clan selection screen.

Balance Changes

The latest update has changed the attack speed of the “Haste Vial” the hero equipment for Royal Champion. Its old and new attacking speeds for hero boost on different levels are as follows.
